1) What were the reasons that led the USA to getting involved in Greece and Turkey?
The United States felt a great threat from communism and as a result decided to help Turkey and Greece becasue they were under the threat of control of communism.
2) What is the Domino Theory and how does it relate to this circumstance?
The Domino Theory was the idea that if one of the countries of Europe fell into the hands of a communist government, the rest of the countries of Europe that were not under the control of a communist government would slowly fall under the rule of the prior established communist government. This relates to this circumstance because if Turkey and Greece fell to communism, the Americans felt that all the other countries surrounding the satellite states would be converted to communism as well.
3) The Truman Doctrine can be called the beginning of Cold War Foreign policy. Explain this.
The Truman Doctrine shifted the American Foreign policy from one of isolationism to one that was soley focused on keeping the U.S.S.R. contained in its own area and stop communism from spreading. The Doctrine itself states the U.S.S.R. needs to be contained and stopped from expanding.
